Carbon is used as filler for the Impress Current Anode, for underground cathodic protection systems.

When the anode is used in the soil of the cathodic protection system, it is usually pre-packed with filler material on the outside, and packed in a cloth bag or paper tube. The role of this special filler:

1. Avoid direct contact between the anode and the soil to improve the working environment of the anode;
2. Reduce the anode grounding resistance and increase the anode output current;
3. The chemical composition of the filler is conducive to the dissolution of the anode product and reduces unnecessary anode polarization;
4. Keep the anode bed moist for a long time.
