A Visco-Elastic System for Pipeline Corrosion Protection.

ATVE ViscoTape™ is an effective pipeline corrosion protection coating designed for steel and coatings such as PE, PP and FBE.  It is supplied in a roll form for an easy cold-applied application on the pipe.

This specialized viscoelastic adhesive is formulated from a non-crystalline, non-reactive stable compound for a permanent bond to the pipe for a long durable service. The polyethylene backing is reinforced to provide excellent mechanical strength.  ATVE ViscoTape™ is suitable for above ground and buried pipelines and steel structures.

Viscoelastic Properties

The unique viscoelastic nature of the ATVE ViscoTape™ allows cold-flow of the adhesive to fill-in the irregularities of the substrate and also provides self-healing capability to the coating system. The adhesive remains flexible, bonded and conformed to the pipe. The tape design forms an efficient barrier to water and oxygen for excellent corrosion protection.

Mechanical Properties

ATVE ViscoTape™ is complemented by an ATVE Outerwrap tape that provides additional impact and indentation resistance and also facilitates the self-healing of small defects in the coating.
